What happens when two viewers try to watch the same Slingbox

Only one viewer at a time can watch a Slingbox. However, if you know the Administrator Password for that Slingbox, you can interrupt the other viewer. (It's not a nice thing to do, though.)

  • If you are the Slingbox Administrator, or a View-only user, and you try to view a Slingbox in use, you see a dialog box informing you that the Slingbox is in use:

  • If you are a view-only user and you see this message, you can't watch the Slingbox. Click Cancel ... and then go work it out with the person currently watching the Slingbox.

  • If you are a Slingbox Administrator and you see this message, enter your Administrator password, then click OK.
Doing this "bumps" the other Slingbox user, who sees this message:

If this person also knows the Slingbox Administrator Password, they can bump you in return, so be careful who you choose to tangle with.

And also be careful who you give the Administrator Password to! Anyone who knows the Administrator Password can change it at any time.
