SlingProjector has two status indicator icons that can appear in the bottom quarter of the application interface. These status indicators display, along with a message, if there's anything you need to be aware of for the best viewing experience.
The two status indicators are:
- Performance Warning Indicator
This status indicator displays if there are factors that could be causing reduced SlingProjector performance. Primarily, this warning displays if your computer's CPU is working at maximum capacity. Some suggestions for resolving this situation include:
- Reduce the size of the projected area;
- Exit any other applications that are running on your computer;
- Project video that isn't as resource-intensive (such as standard-definition video instead of high-definition);
- Make sure that your PC meets the minimum requirements for SlingProjector (see links below for more info).
Note: If this is a recurring problem, the best solution is to upgrade your PC if possible. The links below provide more information about what's needed for SlingProjector to work best.
- Network Warning Indicator
This status indicator displays if SlingProjector detects problems with the connection between SlingCatcher and your router. Often, the reason for this is a wireless connection that isn't as robust as SlingCatcher requires. The most common solution for this is reducing the distance between SlingCatcher and your router, and/or repositioning SlingCatcher so there are fewer walls or other major obstructions that could affect connection quality. If possible, you can solve the problem by connecting SlingCatcher using a cable, instead of a wireless connection.
