The Finder ID of your Slingbox acts like a trail of bread-crumbs on the Internet, letting the SlingPlayer software find your Slingbox no matter where you are in the world. When you connect to your Slingbox while you are at home, you don't need the Finder ID - we are able to find that Slingbox that is just in the other room. The only time we need it is when you are outside the home. Note for Mac users: You may be asking - what the heck is a Finder ID? In the SlingPlayer for Mac software, we call the Finder ID the Slingbox ID, so that it is not confused with the Mac OS X Finder. Follow these steps to access the Finder ID information on a computer that has your Slingbox in the SlingPlayer Slingbox Directory: - Open your Slingbox Directory.
- Click on the Slingbox and select Edit Properties.
- You will see the Finder ID on the Connection tab.
