Video Appears Blocky SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Smartphone

Sometimes you may find that the video image on your Windows Smartphone appears blocky or pixelated. This is most often due to a poor connection to your wireless network.

If your network is robust enough (meaning it is a high speed wireless connection like 3G or a Wi-Fi/USB connection to a local network) and you continue to notice blocky artifacts in the video image, the SlingStream Optimization encoding option under Encoding parameters in your SlingPlayer Mobile options might be set to Low Action.

Try the default setting of Medium Action. Also, note that slow Internet upstream rates can affect the streaming quality when using the Slingbox remotely.
