The coaxial ports on the Slingbox Tuner, Slingbox PRO, and the Slingbox PRO-HD
pass the cable signal through in one direction only. So, anything you
have plugged in to the cable after the Slingbox will not be able to
send a signal back through the wire to your cable company. This may
unintentionally block things like pay-per-view selections and special
channels. For example, if you have your cable running from the
wall, through the Slingbox, and then into your cable modem or your cable set-top box; that last
device will usually not work properly because both the cable modem and
the set-top box need to send signals back to the cable company in order
to function properly.
The solution is to use a coaxial cable splitter. If you split
the cable at the source and run one cable to your Slingbox and the
other to your modem or set-top box, all of your devices will continue
to work as expected.
