| Error code 0x8007274C when connecting to your Slingbox
It can be frustrating to launch SlingPlayer to watch some TV when you're away from home, only to have problems connecting to your Slingbox. If this does happen, you might see an error similar to the one below.

You'll get this error if your SlingPlayer software can get out onto the Internet, connect to the Sling servers, and find the location of your Slingbox -- but your Slingbox doesn't respond. Here are some of the possible reasons, as well as some solutions.
| Possible cause |
Possible Solution |
| Your Slingbox isn't properly set up for remote viewing. |
If this is the case, you're stuck for now. You've got to be on your home network to set up remote viewing for the first time. When you get home, connect to your Slingbox and edit the Network settings to set up remote viewing. |
| You made some changes to your home network (like getting a new router). |
You're also stuck if you've changed your network without re-running the Setup Wizard, as the settings are outdated. Resset your Slingbox by pressing and holding the reset button. Then run the Setup Wizard once again. |
| Your home network or Internet connection is down. |
If your home network or Internet connection is down, contact your Internet service provider so that they can solve the problem. |
| The Slingbox is blocked by the remote network's firewall/NAT settings. |
Some networks, often in workplaces, have firewalls that can block signals between your Slingbox and SlingPlayer. See our article Using the SlingPlayer Behind a Company Firewall, and/or talk with your local network administrator. | |
