Slingbox PRO-HD optimum system requirements

Streaming high-definition (HD) video requires a lot more network capacity and computing power than streaming standard definition (SD) video does. The system requirements that are listed on the Slingbox PRO-HD box state minimum requirements (in other words, what you need for a decent viewing experience while streaming HD content from your Slingbox PRO-HD).

If those minimums don't provide the viewing experience that you want, your setup might require more computing power. Here's a listing of optimum system requirements (CPU speed, installed RAM, operating system) for streaming content in HD from the Slingbox PRO-HD:

Microsoft Windows:

  • 2 GHz and above processor
  • 1 GB installed RAM (Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2 or higher)
  • 2 GB installed RAM (Microsoft Vista)

Mac OS: SlingPlayer for Mac currently doesn't stream in high definition.
