What do the lights on the front of the SlingCatcher mean?

Here's what the lights on the front of your SlingCatcher are telling you:

All lights are off: STANDBY mode

  • If all of the lights on the front of your Slingbox are off, then your SlingCatcher is in STANDBY mode. You put your Slingbox into this mode by pressing the POWER button on the remote control while your SlingCatcher is on. You can't use your SlingCatcher in this mode (including trying to connect to it from SlingProjector) because the video outputs of SlingCatcher are turned off. Press the POWER button again to bring your SlingCatcher out of STANDBY mode.

Power and Sling logo lights go on and off when SlingCatcher is powered on: normal startup

  • When you power your SlingCatcher on, it's normal for the Power and the Sling logo lights to go on for about 20 seconds. After that, the Sling logo light turns off and the SlingCatcher interface appears on your TV screen.

Network light is on: your SlingCatcher is connected

  • The Network light turns on only when the SlingCatcher has both a local network connection AND an Internet connection. Note: this is different from the way the lights work on a Slingbox, where the network light indicates only a local network connection.

Network light is off: your SlingCatcher is not connected

  • If the Network light is off, the SlingCatcher was unable to connect through your local network to the Internet ... or it was unable to connect to your local network at all. Make sure that the SlingCatcher is properly connected to your router, or other network access point.
