How do I manually change the Slingbox video resolution in the SlingCatcher interface?
Here are the steps for manually adjusting the resolution of the video streaming from your Slingbox to your SlingCatcher.
Connect to your Slingbox by selecting it from the SlingPlayer list in the SlingCatcher interface.
Press the OPT button twice to bring up the Disconnect, Advanced and Audio options. (Note: if you are connected to a Slingbox TUNER, you only have to hit OPT once to get the Advanced menu option.)
Using the arrow buttons, navigate to Advanced and click OK.
You will see a list of possible Slingbox resolution settings. Note the minimum required upstream bandwidth required for each of the settings:
640x480 resolution: 1 Mbps or better sustained upstream bandwidth from your Slingbox. This is the default resolution when streaming from a Slingbox to your SlingCatcher within your home network (when both devices are on your home network)
640x240 resolution: 600 Kbps or better sustained upstream bandwidth from your Slingbox.
320x240 resolution: 256 Kbps or better sustained bandwidth from your Slingbox. This is the default resolution when streaming from a Slingbox on the Internet to a SlingCatcher in your home.
If you do not meet the above minimum bandwidth requirements, you will see stuttering video on your TV.
