Setting up your SlingCatcher using a static IP address

When you set up SlingCatcher for the first time, you must use DHCP. Once your SlingCatcher has been set up, you can change its settings to use a static IP address if you want.

Here's how:
  1. Make sure that DHCP is enabled on your home router. If you're not sure how to do this, check the documentation that came with your router. (If you can't find the documentation, check the manufacturer's web site.)
  2. Go through the SlingCatcher's setup procedure.
  3. Change your router setting to static IP.
  4. On your SlingCatcher, choose Settings, then Network, then Static IP Address.
Tips:
  • Use the right-arrow navigation key to move from number to number.
  • Be sure to enter the period between the numbers.
  • Click OK only when you’re done entering the complete number.
