Can I stream HD from my Slingbox PRO-HD to my SlingCatcher?

Here's what you need and how to set it all up:

What you need:

  1. You must have a Slingbox PRO-HD with updated firmware (version 1.2.100 or later).
--PC users: Update to the latest SlingPlayer (2.0.2 or later) and your firmware will automatically be updated.
--Mac users: Currently, this update is only available to Windows users.
  2. SlingCatcher must also be updated (version 1.0.0.57 or later).
Go to your SlingCatcher and then go to the Settings menu and then Software Update. If there's an update available, select Yes to install it. You can check that you're running the correct software version (1.0.0.57) by going to Settings > System Information.
  3. You must have a network connection to your Slingbox PRO-HD with sustained upload speed of at least 2 Mbps for a good streaming experience. You can stream over your home network or over the Internet, as long as you have the required bandwidth.
  4. On your Slingbox PRO-HD, connect to the component inputs or the ATSC/QAMtuner. Configure them in the SlingPlayer Setup Assistant to work with your devices.

And here's how to set it up:

  1. Connect to PRO-HD from SlingCatcher.
  2. Press the OPT button while streaming. Press it once if you're using the ATSC/QAM tuner input. Press it twice if you're using the component inputs.
  3. Select the Advanced option. If you are connected to a Slingbox PRO-HD and the source is high-definition, then the HD option will be shown. For other Slingboxes, this option does not appear.
  4. The HD option will now be the default selection for streaming within your home network. It is also available for Internet streaming but it's not the default selection.
  5. If the input source is not HD, then the HD option will just say HD. If you try to select it, HD will not stay selected. If you open OPT > Advanced again, you see that the previous resolution has not changed.
