My SlingCatcher won't stream at speeds above 200-300 Kbps. It's also slow to respond to remote control commands. What can I do about this?

Problem: Your SlingCatcher shows these symptoms:
  • The streaming quality is low.
  • SlingCatcher is slow to respond to remote control commands.
  • Bit rates do not reach above the 200-300 Kbps range.
This may be caused by a conflict with some network software such as "Network Magic" or "Linksys EasyLink Advisor" (LELA).

Solution: Upgrade to the new release of SlingCatcher Software (firmware). This upgrade fixes this conflict. See the related article below for more information about the update.

Here's how to check your SlingCatcher's bit rate:
Press OPT on the remote while streaming from a Slingbox or SlingProjector. The bit rate appears in the lower right part of the TV screen. If this is the problem, the bit rate won't exceed 200-300 Kbps.
