Streaming in SlingPlayer slows and doesn't recover
While it's normal for network conditions to cause temporary fluctuations in SlingPlayer streaming rates, we're investigating customer reports where streaming speeds significantly decrease and don't improve. For example, your stream starts at 800 Kbps, and then changes to 200 Kbps and remains there. When this happens, streaming recovers only after disconnecting and then reconnecting to your Slingbox from within the SlingPlayer software. If you keep streaming, the speed stays low and does not improve.
The images below show where you can find the streaming rate in Kbps (Kilobytes per second).

We'd really appreciate your help in trying to determine what's causing these types of streaming issues. Before contacting us, please work through the list below and let us know what you find out.
Are there any software updates available for your computer?
For Windows computers, use the Windows Update and check the hardware manufacturer websites for updates to your computer's BIOS, audio or video drivers, network hardware, and even chipset updates. Yes, we know this is kind of a pain, but it helps in many cases. If it does help, please let us know.
For Mac OS computers, use the Software Update and install the latest updates to your System software. If this helps, please let us know.
Which version of SlingPlayer or SlingCatcher software are you using? Make sure that you're using the latest versions.
What devices make up your home network? Please make a list of the routers, cable modem, switches that you use and how they are all physically interconnected. Do all of these devices have the latest updates? It's a good idea to make sure.
Is your Slingbox directly connected to your router with an Ethernet cable? Or are you using a WiFi bridge, SlingLinks or similar device to connect your Slingbox to your router? If yes, does this streaming issue still occur if you temporarily connect your Slingbox directly to your router? Can you consistently reproduce the issue?
Are there specific scenarios that cause the issue to occur, like when you're connecting your computer via Wi-Fi or only when your connecting to your Slingbox over the Internet?
Are there any situations where the issue does not occur, like if you're in a particular location, or using a specific computer?
When did the issue begin? After updating the SlingPlayer, SlingCatcher, or Slingbox Software (firmware)?
