If you're using the Web-based SlingPlayer LiveTV feature in Sling.com, and you've gotten an error message that you need to reset the ActiveX control (Microsoft Internet Explorer) or the Plugin (Firefox) that LiveTV uses, here's how to do that.
Resetting Microsoft Internet Explorer after installing LiveTV ActiveX control
- Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- Click the Advanced tab from the Internet Options window, then click Reset.
- Read the instructions in the next dialog box. When you're done, click Reset.
- Review the completed reset status, then click Close.
- Now restart Internet Explorer.
- When Internet Explorer restarts and is once again ready for use, return to sling.com and complete the setup again.
Resetting the LiveTV Plugin for Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Open Firefox
- Choose Add-ons from the Tools Menu.
- Click the Extensions tab within the Add-ons window.
- In the Add-ons window, select the SlingPlayer LiveTV add-on, then click Uninstall.
- Click Uninstall in the dialog box to confirm.
- Click Restart Firefox inside the Add-ons window to accept the changes.
Firefox restarts.
- That's it! Now you can return to sling.com and complete the setup again.
