How To

My Slingbox password doesn't seem to work. What do I do now?

If you forget your password, the only solution is to reset your Slingbox. To do that, you'll need to be physically near your Slingbox. You'll also need to use a standalone version of the SlingPlayer software, either Windows or Mac OS.

To reset your Slingbox (and therefore your password):

  1. Quit SlingPlayer.
  2. Press and hold the reset button (on the back of the Slingbox) for ten seconds (until the lights on the front of the Slingbox start blinking).
  3. Release the reset button, and wait for both lights on the front right of your Slingbox to glow steadily.

Note: The center light, which indicates whether or not someone is connected to your Slingbox, should remain off.

After you reset your  Slingbox, launch the standalone version of SlingPlayer. You'll be asked if you'd like to set up your Slingbox. Go ahead and do that, so that you can set up your password again.
