What's in the SlingCatcher May 2009 Software Update?

Sling Media has released new software updates for the suite of SlingCatcher applications. These updates include updated SlingCatcher firmware and a new version of SlingProjector.

Here's how to install these updates:

• SlingCatcher firmware updates:
  On your TV screen, go to the Settings menu and select Software Updates. Then select Check for Updates. If SlingCatcher says updates are available, click Yes to install them. If no updates are available, your SlingCatcher is already up to date.

• SlingProjector:
  If you have previously installed SlingProjector on your PC, start the application and click Check for Updates from the menu. If you have not installed the software previously, click the Downloads tab at the top of this page.

What's in these updates?

• Better handling of more types of files:
• Improved handling of MJPG codecs (My Media)
• Support for MP4 files that previously would not play (My Media)
• Faster and more reliable Fast Forward and Rewind in AVI files (My Media)
• Enhanced QVGA resolution video quality (SlingPlayer for TV)
• A variety of enhancements that improve the stability and performance

• SlingProjector:

• Now localized for French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Dutch languages
• Better, more reliable streaming
