Yes, you can stream to your iPhone or iPod touch even without a Sling Account. All you need to do is to add your Slingbox to SlingPlayer Mobile manually. You won't have all of the features available, but you can. Here's how.
Sling Accounts are a free feature that keep track of your Slingbox ID number(s),
Slingbox passwords, and your Favorites lists. If you have a Sling Account, when you log into it on your iPhone or iPod touch, Slingboxes registered there are automatically added to the Slingbox Directory on your handheld device. If you don't have a Sling Account (and choose not to create one), in order to stream from your Slingbox you need to manually add it to the Slingbox Directory on your iPhone or iPod touch.
So, to manually add a Slingbox to the Slingbox Directory, follow these steps:
1. Tap Connect.
2. The Connect to Slingbox screen opens.
If you want to use the Administrative password to your Slingbox, make sure that Admin Password is set to ON and then enter
it.
3. Next, enter your Slingbox ID or the IP address for your Slingbox.
- If you want to use your Slingbox
ID, turn Slingbox ID Connection? on.
a. If you don't know your Slingbox ID, use SlingPlayer on your computer to find
it:

If you have a Mac, go to the Window menu
in SlingPlayer and select Slingbox Directory.
- If you're on Windows, go to the Connect menu
in SlingPlayer and select Slingbox Directory.
b. On either platform, select your Slingbox, then click Edit.
c. The window that opens contains your Slingbox ID.
d. Enter it on your iPhone or iPod touch.
- If you
want to use the IP address for your Slingbox, turn Slingbox
ID Connection? off, and then enter it there. Don't know the IP address? See the related article below.
4. After you've entered this information, tap Connect.
SlingPlayer Mobile will connect to your Slingbox and will start streaming.
NOTE: When you manually add a Slingbox,
you won't see the Favorites button and
you won't see any Favorites.
