Want a better picture or sound? Here's how to optimize streaming on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Making some minor adjustments can help you get the very best video and audio.

With SlingPlayer on a PC or a Mac, a slow Internet connection at home can affect picture quality when viewing remotely. With SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone, the quality of the Wi-Fi connection has an even greater impact.

SlingPlayer for iPhone needs a strong Wi-Fi signal in order to stream. The stronger your Wi-Fi signal strength, the better results you'll see. Try changing locations, if you can. Look in the upper left corner of your iPhone's screen to see the signal strength.

If you're stuck with a less than optimal signal, making the adjustments mentioned below can help.

Adjust audio

If video quality is more important than audio, you can turn down the audio settings.

To turn down the audio settings:

  1. If you're streaming and connected to your Slingbox, tap the screen to display the main controls. Tap the Disconnect button. If you're not streaming, go on to the next step.
  2. Tap the Settings button. In Settings, you can turn Stereo and/or High Quality Audio off.

Adjust video

If audio is more important than video, you can adjust the video settings.

To adjust the video settings:

  1. If you're not streaming already, connect to your Slingbox.
  2. Tap the screen to display the main controls.
  3. Tap the Options button. In Options, you can toggle between HQ (High Quality) and SD (Standard Quality) video.
