Here's what the Slingbox ID is, and how you can find yours.
Each Slingbox has its own unique identification number, called the Slingbox ID, that helps SlingPlayer locate your Slingbox ... no matter how far away it is. In the past, this number has also been referred to as the Finder ID (although it has nothing to do with the Mac OS Finder) or the Slingbox Finder ID.
Need to find out what your Slingbox ID is? You can easily find out, but you need to be on your home network.
To find your Slingbox ID:
- Launch SlingPlayer for Windows or SlingPlayer for Mac OS.
- Go to the Slingbox Directory:
- For Windows: Choose Slingbox Directory from the Connect menu.
- For Mac OS: Choose Slingbox Directory from to the Window menu.
- Click to select your Slingbox, then click Edit.
- Click the Information tab.
- In the top row, you'll see ID. That's your Slingbox ID. If it doesn't display fully, click it. You'll see the full number towards the bottom of the box, where you can also select it if you need to.
