Are you having trouble figuring out all those ports on the back of the Slingbox PRO?
The Slingbox PRO is designed to be connected to as many as 4 different TV sources at a time: one HD source, one S-Video source, one composite source, and one coaxial source.
Below are descriptions of the different video connections and examples of what they look like when all set up.
Before you begin, take a look at the back of your audio/video
sources. What types of connections does it have?
- If it is an HD source,
you definitely will want to use the HD Connect cable. That
provides the best quality video.
- The next best is S-Video. S-Video is the funny-looking cable with the 5 little pins on the connector.
- If your source isn't HD and doesn't provide an S-Video connection, you can use composite video.
- If you have basic cable in the US or want to watch your FreeView channels in the UK, you can connect a coaxial cable to the tuner that is built in to the Slingbox.

For the best picture, hook up your HD set-top box to the Slingbox PRO. Click on the image above to see what it looks like all hooked up.

If you aren't hooking your Slingbox PRO to an HD source, the next best choice is S-Video. Click on the image above to see an example of what it looks like.

If you don't have an S-Video out connection on your audio/video source, you should use composite. Click on the image above to see what this looks like all hooked up.

Finally, if you are going to use the built-in tuner in the Slingbox PRO for your basic cable in the US or your FreeView channels in the UK, attach your coaxial cable to the ANT IN port.

Now it is time to connect the Remote Control IR cable and position the head of the cable so that you can control the audio/video source you connected to your Slingbox PRO.
