Troubleshooting problems with controlling your TV

Troubles controlling your TV from the SlingPlayer will fall into one of two categories:

  • Software or configuration problem
  • Hardware or hookup problem

If you are just setting up your Slingbox and can't find your AV source in the device list or if your device is listed but some buttons aren't working as expected, then click on the Device setup problems link below.

If you think you set it up correctly but your AV source just isn't responding when you use the SlingRemote in the SlingPlayer, then it may be a hookup issue and you should test that the hardware is working. Steps for doing this can be found on the Hardware troubleshooting page.
